TMJ, Facial nerve and headache in kids and babies

We do work with kids and babies for jaw and face conditional and often form a part of their multidisciplinary team. We love to include parents, other family and siblings in their management and have a strong focus on setting up families to feel confident managing at home with our guidance. If a family feels they prefer to see us more regularly that is also welcome.

We see kids with congenital, birth related, illness, injury and tumour related facial nerve injuries as well as facial nerve management from brain injury or stroke. The rehab principles are similar to adults but we tend to structure things to be in game form and couple with activities or tasks that are already a part of your day to make it more achievable and to manage little attention spans.

Similar for our paediatric TMJ patients, we see little kids through to stressed HSC highschoolers with sore jaws and headaches. We will often see trauma and sporting related face injuries and locked jaws too.

We prefer parents to be present with their kids. Siblings and other family members are very welcome. Older teenagers are welcome to attend solo on subsequent consults but we require an adult to be present for the initial consultation.

As in our FAQ’s we are not NDIS registered but happily accept self managed NDIS if applicable.
